Meet Our Staff
Cathan Coghlan, PhD
Director
Cathan earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from Texas Woman’s University, a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a bachelor’s degree in Religion from the University of Georgia. Cathan joined TCU in 2001 serving as a Lecturer in Sociology and Criminal Justice for two years before moving to Institutional Research in 2003. Serving as the director since 2009, he has been an instrumental leader in the adoption of the Tableau platform for the delivery of visual analytics, the development of a student records data warehouse, the establishment of a data governance framework for the University, the transition from paper to online SPOT, and the adoption of Faculty180 as a Faculty Data Management tool. He continues to focus on improving data quality and accessibility to facilitate data-informed decision-making across the university. Before joining TCU, Cathan worked in the non-profit sector serving low-income families, victims of family violence, and persons with HIV/AIDS.
Laurie Harris
Associate Director
Laurie earned a Master of Science in Data Science from Southern Methodist University, and a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Texas Christian University. Laurie served the Office of Admission at TCU for more than two years as Data Administrator prior to moving to Institutional Research in June 2022. Before joining TCU professionally in 2019, she worked in auditing and financial analytics, focusing on healthcare reimbursement and contracting.
Lindsey Millns
Assistant Director, Reporting & Operations
Lindsey earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Denver and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing magna cum laude from St. Edward’s University. She compiles and analyzes data required for official government reporting, ranking publications, and college guides such as IPEDS, NCAA, and U.S. News. Lindsey designs Tableau dashboards, and she oversees IR operations, budget, website, and marketing. Before joining TCU in 2012, she worked in pharmaceutical sales and employee benefits.
Ross House
Data Quality & Governance Coordinator
Ross earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. Ross partners with functional offices to address data quality issues, facilitates data governance policies, procedures, and standards for the university, and works to improve data literacy across TCU. Most of his career has been in manufacturing and distribution as an Industrial Engineer. Ross is adept at using data analyses and modeling techniques, process improvement techniques, and change management to achieve organizational goals.
Reyna Cortés
Survey Coordinator
Reyna earned her B.S. in Applied Health Science from Indiana University and is a current graduate student in the College of Education here at TCU pursuing her master’s degree in Counseling. Reyna is responsible for SPOT administration while communicating with faculty and staff. While she is still a Hoosier at heart, her love for Texas has grown with the help of all the wonderful people she has met here at TCU. Before joining TCU, Reyna worked in recruiting for a staffing agency.
Maggie Williams
Reporting Specialist
Maggie earned her master’s degree in Library and Information Science and her bachelor’s degree in History from the Catholic University of America. Maggie is responsible for assisting with the compiling of data needed for official reporting. Before joining TCU, Maggie worked in a public library.
